Ostéopathe : comment ça marche

L'ostéopathe est un professionnel formé sur 5 ans (agrément du ministère de la Santé) qui traite par manipulations manuelles les troubles fonctionnels : dos, articulations, tensions, troubles digestifs fonctionnels. La consultation dure 45 minutes à 1 heure et de nombreuses mutuelles la remboursent partiellement. En cas de douleur aiguë ou de symptôme inhabituel, votre médecin reste le premier réflexe.

Comment se déroule une séance

La consultation (45 min à 1 h) commence par un interrogatoire précis et des tests de mobilité. L'ostéopathe traite ensuite par techniques manuelles adaptées : mobilisations douces, travail musculaire et fascial, parfois manipulations avec craquement — jamais obligatoires si vous n'êtes pas à l'aise.

Tarifs et remboursement

Comptez 50 à 80 € la séance, jusqu'à 90-100 € à Paris. Pas de remboursement Sécurité sociale, mais la grande majorité des mutuelles remboursent 1 à 5 séances par an. Une à trois séances suffisent pour la plupart des motifs courants.

Bien choisir son ostéopathe

Vérifiez le diplôme d'une école agréée par le ministère de la Santé (formation en 5 ans) et l'inscription ADELI/RPPS. Un bon ostéopathe vous réoriente vers un médecin dès que le tableau sort de son champ : douleur nocturne, fièvre, traumatisme récent, symptômes neurologiques.
